Vaddanam is an ornament worn around waist typically in the south Indian territory. It is an attractive Jewelry Belt adorned by women to secure the saree in place.It is traditionally worn during festival days and major family occasions like marriages as a status symbol in south Indian. Vaddanam is also referred as Waist Belt in English. These waist belt is known in different names in different parts of India. This shows the importance given to this ornament in all our cultures. Referred as Vadddanam in Telugu , Oddiyanam in Tamil and in some part of south India, referred as Kamar band in Hindi or North India.
