How to A Get Designer Saree Look to your Old Saree (without cutting into pieces)

we all have quite a few numbers of sarees sitting at our wardrobes from ages. Though they are in good shape, we are not interested to wear them again due to some of the reasons such as old designs,  color or out of fashion or you might have worn it by a number of times. Wearing the saree with same old matching tried and tested standard color blouses gets boring after some time.

Don't worry ladies, Its time to know some tips and tricks on How to revive those old sarees and bring the designer look without running them under the scissors meaning, without cutting the saree you can wear them to bring them back to fashion by simple modifications to them.

1. Play with Blouse work

Try differently with Blouse works that match with your sarees. Go with Monochrome blouse with Maggam or thread work or chikan work,  Monochromes with back neck designs with back tussles and high light the necks to grab the attraction from saree to blouse.

Go for fully contrast work on a blouse with beautiful designs or contrasting blended colors such as pink with purple, green with blue, mustard with maroon so on..  pink, green, Silver and Gold colored work are standard colors which blend very well with any shade of blouse irrespective of  saree  color by bringing a new look.

2. Add Brocades to your Saree

Most of the Silk Sarees, Kanchivaram sarees comes with the running blouse and we might have used those blouses for years.  Let us change that routine look by adding Brocade fabric to the blouse. Team up with the entire Brocade blouse or brocade sleeves transforms the whole look of your saree. Attaching brocades or Banaras Blouse to your sarees extra glamour to your saree.

3. Try Different Saree Drapes

As I mentioned in my earlier posts, try different saree drapes like saree over a lehenga, Dhoti saree or many more. you can even hide some of the flaws of your sarees by draping different ways.  Just you need to trick by selecting apt saree drape with a perfect blouse. But don't forget that your saree drape should be suitable for the occasion.

4. Saree with Peplum Blouse

Peplum blouse transforms the whole appeal of your saree. Everyone must have at least one Shimmer and designer peplum blouse in their wardrobe that cut down half of our time that we spend on picking up a blouse. peplum blouse or lengthy blouses helps a lot to experiment and innovative different saree draping styles. 5. Add Ruffles to your Saree

If you saree looks plain, just add the ruffles to your saree border and pallu and see the magic. These ruffles add extra beauty to the saree and you can't even imagine that nobody will identify that you have revived your old saree. But don't add too much contrast color to the ruffle. Try monochrome and pastel shades of ruffles for a trendy appeal.

6. Go with mismatch Blouse 

We have been watching our moms by wearing the blouse that comes with the blouse, which is of the same color of saree. Especially few sarees, which comes with running blouse comes with a single color blouse. Try fully mismatch color instead that saree running blouse to get a new look.  You can inspire from the below pic where she flaunted saree with contrast blouse.  This season, the trend is to match sarees with the blouse that do not go according to standards.  so, break the rules and make the new rules for a positive fashion.

7. Mix and Match with Sarees

Yes, you heard it right. Mix and Match with sarees, not with the blouse.  Mixing saree pallu with another saree/Dupatta is an option and  Dual saree also another worth trying option.  Dual saree draping became a trend in celebrity style or grandeur wedding.   Not just weddings, these dual sarees are mostly preferred by youth for their friends birthday parties or get-togethers with simple sarees.

8. Play with Blouse Sleeves

Playing with the blouse sleeves is the simplest way to bring Designer saree look to your saree. Yes, Blouse sleeves definitely define your saree look.  Try different sleeves such as Ruffled sleeves, Bell sleeves, cold shoulders, full sleeves, 3/4th sleeves, and off shoulders, capes and see the magic.  Full sleeves Blouse with sarees, not only add grandness to your apparel but also comes with the volume for very lean or thin girls. 3/4th sleeves with contrast ruffles at the border give trendy look, this blouse design looks great and makes a statement with Linen Sarees which are suitable in all seasons.

9. Add Tassles or Fringes  

Adding Tassels or Kuchu is a simple and quite a brilliant idea to the saree not just at pallu but throughout the saree border.  Fringes gives a beautiful flowy feeling to the saree. while the Kuchu can be incorporated not just at pallu but throughout the saree to get a beautiful look. Adding Pompoms also a good idea to give a new look to your old saree. But, don't forget to add the same tassels or fringes what you have used in the saree to blouse to maintain the similarity. 10. Add lace to your saree

Adding a Lace to saree is another way to bring a designer look to your old saree. The color,  the Pattern and the way you add the lace to saree make a lot of difference. Adding Lace as the border to saree or Adding Net fabric or lace at the frills are quite easy but old fashion. Try to add Big lace in 'U or 'V' shape at the front chest part and at the pallu with criss-cross style or at one corner of saree brings a new look to saree.  Try to use contrast-colored lace on top of the saree without cutting the saree underneath the saree, It helps to give a dual shade to the pattern. whereas, Use the monochrome lace to the saree by removing the underneath saree fabric.  Adding lace to the sleeves of the blouse also another option. 11. Add Belt to saree

Belt over saree is a trend currently running fashion starting from celebrities to youth. Just pick a Leather or cloth belt which suits the saree and just accessorize it. If you don't find any matching belt, just fold any scarf or cloth as a beat and wrap it around your waist to bring a belt appeal. Belt not only secure your saree pleats in place but also add a modern look.

12. Introduce a New color in the blouse

Yes, introducing a new color to your blouse which is not present in the saree body or saree Border or Pallu turns your saree into a new one.  Add your saree border to the very contrast Blouse, so that it catches other's eyes and it gives new appeal to your saree to get a lot of compliments as well. Picking the contrast color is a tricky part but it does the magic if the pick the perfect mismatching new color. Silver and lemon yellow are those picky and tricky colors which are mostly used new colors to introduce.

13. Highlight with the Silk Fall to the saree

This is a simple trick but results are awesome. It works well with no borders or with border without contrast colors. Just add any contrast colored silk and shiny Fall to the saree and team up with the blouse in that Piko fall color. Trust me that you definitely love this transformation of your saree look. This is the best option for quick and simple transformation.

14. Add Ruffles to your Blouse

Not just Ruffles add glamour to the saree but also to the blouse bring up a new look to your apparel.  Adding Sarre colored Ruffled Blouse or Contrast colored Ruffled blouse has its own appeal. Try adding ruffles blouse which breaks the monotony of blouses coming from ages not only on plain sarees but with heavy Kanjeevaram sarees as well. If are not comfortable with the full ruffle blouse, you can add the ruffle to the sleeves. You can experiment by adding ruffles at the end of sleeves to enhance your saree look.

15. Add designer Lehenga as a Net saree petticoat

Yes, it could be a better way to revive your heavy bridal lehenga and sarees as well.  This Idea, cancan Lehenga underneath the saree works great with Net or sheer sarees. But the tricky part is how to select the lehenga and saree combination. Select a heavy embroidery lehenga for plain Net saree and Plain contrast Can Can Lehenga under work Sheer Saree.  The color or the work of the lehenga should be highlighted underneath the saree so that it brings up the new look your saree automatically.

16. Add Patterns to the Saree Blouse

Add Patterns to the blouse can also be considered a good idea to transform your saree look. Patterns such as colorful Checks or floral prints or other traditional prints brings unusual attraction to your old saree. 17. Layer it up

Layering always does the wonders whether it could be a Kurta or saree. Yes, Layer your saree outfit with capes over a blouse or Long Jackets over the saree to get a grand look to your saree.  Plain Over Jacket with Embroidery or Lace at border works well irrespective of color. These Over-jackets adds western touch without losing its ethnicity.
